Cell Phones in the Classroom

Regardless of your school’s cell phone policy, the reality in most schools is that students have phones in their pockets, purses, or hoodies. Why not get these tools out in plain sight and use them for good and not evil?

Here are some easy to use strategies to use cell phones in the classrooms.

I like using them with a cool app called Socrative. Get a teacher room and have the students download the free app on their phone. Turns phones into clickers (wireless access is better than G3) The responses are shown graphically in the teacher room.
It even has an exit question set that sends a collection of the responses in a spread sheet to your e-mail account.
